A feeding Guide for Weimaraners

The most important thing for the care of the animals is to know what you can and cannot feed your pet. I do not claim the ultimate truth, this reflects the results of the study information from Russian and foreign sources about correct feeding of dogs (in particular Weimaraners). However, dogs, like their owners, can have their own ideas and preferences in food.

Optimal diet

The main issue concerns the choice between natural food and dry food. These specialized dry pet food of Premium class is perfectly balanced. We follow a mixed diet. In addition to dry food, occasionally yield natural products.

Natural products as a matter of priority: meat, low fat cheese, fish.
Supplements to the diet: necessary as in natural, and with dry feeding, because when all the efforts of the food manufacturer is impossible to consider individual needs and particularities of each breed of dog. Goodies: cheese (not more than 50 g per day), liver, "crunchies".

Shouldn’t feed

It turns out that there are a ton of products that can really harm your dog, including those that are useful for everyday people.
The absolute prohibition of bones, grapes, raisins, onions, chocolate The grape: Despite the love of some dogs to grapes, ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) warns that grapes and raisins can lead to a serious case of poisoning or even death.

Chocolate contains caffeine and theobromine which fall under the methylxanthines category. When we hear the phrase "the darker the chocolate, the more dangerous" is because white chocolate contains methylxanthines less – i.e. less toxicity.

Not recommended: beet pulp, soy, white rice

Cheap "commercial food" for dogs containing large amounts of cereals (Weimaraner not a cow!), various wastes from slaughterhouses, food waste, non-edible fillers, heavy metals, sugar, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, artificial dyes, synthetic flavorings and preservatives.
